Payment/Pricing

Pricing will be detailed on our Pricing page. Virtual participants get a 30% discount off the price of in-person attendance.

As ever, on SQLBits Saturday you can attend both in-person and virtually absolutely free of charge.

At SQLBits, inclusivity is at the heart of what we do. We understand that various circumstances, whether that’s being a student, a parent, a caregiver, or anything else, might make attending financially challenging.

If you’re eager to attend SQLBits but are going to struggle to afford it, please reach out to our team at contactus@sqlbits.com. We have an annual attendance assistance fund to help subsidise a limited number of delegates. Your presence matters, and we’re here to make it possible for you!

Our primary method of payment is via credit card. We’ve made this choice to reduce admin and ultimately keep ticket costs down. If you would like to use invoices for your payment, we can accommodate this for large groups, although please note that there will be a processing fee associated with this option.

If you have problems paying then please contact us.

To complete your payment, please use the online credit card option available on our registration platform through our website.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Amex. Your account and confirmation email will offer the option to download an invoice if needed. Regrettably, we do not facilitate in-person payments at the event venue or accept payments via cheque.

For a seamless experience, it’s essential to settle your registration payment in full at least 24 hours before the event’s commencement. This ensures your registration’s validity and grants you access to the event.

A quick and very important tip: Any time-sensitive discounts are tied to your payment date, not your registration date. So make sure to finalize your payment promptly.

Yes, we are a VAT-registered company providing services within the UK so we have to charge VAT at UK rates.

All fees are subject to UK VAT at 20%, even if you are registered for VAT within the EU, but outside of the UK.

Attending a SQLBits conference is classed as a supply of services, and the supply takes place within the UK, therefore UK VAT is chargeable for all attendees, regardless of their location.

All discounts are detailed on our Pricing page. Please be aware that only one discount can be used per person.

Absolutely, we’re thrilled to offer you a 5% discount!

To make it happen, simply share your user group or meetup name along with the leader’s email address with us at contactus@sqlbits.com. Once we receive this info, we’ll wing over a discount code to your leader who can share this code with group members.

You can save your registration and return to it at a later date using the ‘Save and pay later’ option. Any time-sensitive discounts are tied to your payment date, not your registration date. So, to enjoy these perks, make sure to finalize your payment promptly.

You can now pay for your SQLBits booking over two payments. Please send us a message at contactus@sqlbits.com for more details and how to action this.

Registration

You only need to pre-book session selections for Tuesday, a day of full training days, where you spend the whole day learning about a single topic in detail. These must be pre-booked at the time you register.

The remainder of the week you can choose which session you want to go to as and when you choose. Check our Agenda page for more information. Be sure to watch out for the popular sessions as room capacity is fixed and seats are taken on a first come, first served basis, however we will be live streaming footage of these busy sessions onto the wall in the main expo hall and providing headsets for you to listen in (just one of our Inclusivity initiatives.)

To swap/change training day sessions, please head to your confirmation email and click the link to modify your booking.

Session spots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so securing your spot early is a smart move. Remember, spaces might open up later (keep an eye out daily!), or you can opt to join us virtually for the experience if your training day speaker has made this an option.

When you’re registering, feel free to mix and match to create your ideal SQLBits experience but don’t forget, the more days you attend, the more you save.

Saturday is a gift from us to you! No cost is involved.

You’re absolutely welcome to book through a training provider of your choice. However, it’s important to keep in mind that this doesn’t affect the associated costs in any way. Rest assured, the pricing remains consistent regardless of the booking route you take.

Speakers

The sky’s the limit when it comes to submitting sessions! Feel free to keep sending in your ideas without any constraints.

At SQLBits we seek to provide fresh content at the very highest standard for our delegates. We expect all our speakers to have some experience, and don’t feel SQLBits is the right place for someone to make their first solo presentation at a large event with the exception of lightning talks where we welcome and encourage first-time speakers.

If you are looking to get into speaking, we’d love to support you via our Connect activity. Visit the page here to find out more.

If you’ve spoken elsewhere but are new to the SQLBits stage, welcome! Great to have you here. If you’re looking for a bit of extra support, you’ll notice in the submissions process we offer you the opportunity to team up with a wingman (aka a seasoned speaker) to boost your confidence. Or, on the flip side, you could be a mentor looking to guide someone on their speaking journey.

Swing by our speaker guidance for more information.

We use Sessionize for our Call for Speakers. You can find out more on our speaker page, where the Speaker Guidance is a valuable resource to guide you through the full submission process. Call for Speakers is now closed for SQLBits 2024.

Gathering feedback from our attendees takes a little time, usually a few weeks. But rest assured, once we have everything compiled, our top priority is to share this valuable feedback with our speakers.

General bits and bobs!

If you’ve selected to attend in-person you have a choice! Either head to the session room where your chosen session is taking place, or if you prefer, find a beanbag or seat in our exhibition hall where we stream the sessions on a gigantic video wall, and bring the session up on our app to get the audio. Don’t forget to bring your headphones!

Virtual attendees can move between session rooms as they prefer.

SQLBits 2025 has yet to be announced, and usually follows this format:

  • Tuesday is a full day training day, where you pre-select a session that will last the whole day.
  • Wednesday is a day of 100 minute sessions, which you can select on the day.
  • Thursday and Friday are days full of 20 and 50 minute sessions, which you can select on the day.
  • Saturday is a free day, full of 20 and 50 minute sessions, which you can select on the day. Even though this is free, you do still need to register.

Fear not, brave traveller, we have compiled a Travel & Accommodation page for this very purpose!

Yes, once again we will be presenting SQLBits as a hybrid event. Further details on our streaming platform will be available closer to the event. Hybrid event attendees receive a 30% discount on in-person attendance.

If you decide to switch from in-person attendance to virtual participation (or vice versa), let us know at contactus@sqlbits.com, and we’ll make the transition smooth.

If you make the switch more than 30 days before the event, you’ll be in for a refund of the difference. Our refund policy has all the nitty-gritty details if you’re curious.

When you register for in-person attendance, you automatically score virtual access too. So, you have the power to mix and match – attend some days in-person and others virtually, all based on what suits your schedule best.

Our world-renowned party is back in action on Friday night, promising an unforgettable experience, and that’s not all – our classic tradition of a curry feast and a pub quiz is locked in for Thursday night plus the return of Board Game Night on Wednesday.

Plus, don’t forget, you’re welcome to bring along your family and friends. The more, the merrier!
