This seminar will provide you with the information required to implement and maintain reporting services . You will start by exploring the different installation options for reporting services. You will then learn how to create compelling reports, as well as how to manage and distribute the reports. You then also explore how to manage the reports effectively and maintain the reporting server. A summary of the topics covered include-

 

  • Introducing Reporting Services 2008 - This session will provide a quick tour of Reporting Services 2008, then drilling down into the installation of Reporting Services 2008 and the options available.
  • Authoring Reports - This will explore how to create reports from scratch, exploring the tablix data region and the benefits that this new feature brings
  • Enhancing Reports - In this session you will explore the use of parameters and filters to provide dynamic reports. You will also introduce actions to reports to provide interactive capabilities in your report.
  • Bringing reports to the users - Although reports can be retrieved, you can also control the distribution of reports via email. You can also provide a reporting tool that empowers users to create thier own report through report builder
  • Managing Reports - In this session we will explore how you can manage the reports that you have deployed. controlling the Execution properties to managing security.
  • Execution properties to managing Administering Reporting Services - This session will focus on administering the report server.

Chris is also a technical author and is currently working on E-Learning courses for SQL Server 2008 R2 with Microsoft Learning. Chris is a Microsoft Valuable Professional and Microsoft Certified Trainer and has Microsoft qualifications in MCDBA, MCTS and MCITP in SQL Server 2000 and 2005 as well as an MCSE in Windows Server 2000 and 2003.
