4th - 7th March 2015

ExCeL London Exhibition and Convention Centre, London

Datawarehousing: "half DBA and half MBA"

The session will entail an overview of organisational theories, models and cases that are specifically relevant for people with a technology background, working as part of an organisation or working for another organisation.

A number of relevant theories will be presented in overview format, most likely to include historical and well known theories such as Porters Five Forces (plus the history regarding it's rise and fall in popularity), Stakeholder theory and the Resource-Based View of the firm.

Models will include a well known model of Strategy, popular structural models of the organisation and a model for creative problem solving.

Case studies will illustrate models and theories in practice and these cases will demonstrate the relevance of organisational analysis for someone with a technology background.

The session is indented to be a high-level overview, providing handles and pointers into other areas that may be of interest to technologists.
