Notes from the field: High Performance storage for SQL Server

This session provides an overview of a recent customer engagement to investigate storage performance problems and evaluate potential solutions.  The session include details on measuring performance of the existing storage solution, profiling SQL Server disk IO activity and tools to simulate load and evaluate performance.

The session will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of traditional high performance SAN based solutions and compare these with SSD and ioMemory solutions.

The session includes a case information from a customer deployment where performance of existing shared SAN storage was evaluated and a high performance storage solution implemented.
