DAX Deep Dive with Marco Russo and Alberto Ferrari
DAX is the programming language of the Vertipaq engine, both in PowerPivot and in the incoming Denali version of Analysis Services. DAX is a brand new programming language, which is different from MDX and SQL and, most importantly, leverages new programming patterns thanks to the introduction of concepts like calculated columns, measures, filter and row context.
During this workshop the authors of the best seller “PowerPivot for Microsoft Excel 2010: Give Your Data Meaning” will cover all of the aspects of this programming language, starting from the basic concepts and going through the most complicated aspects of evaluation context interactions, exploiting the full power of DAX. The focus of the course is not on PowerPivot functionalities but only on the DAX programming language.
During the course the speakers will also cover some of the new functionalities of the new features that will be introduced in the next version of DAX.
