Notes from the field: High Performance storage for SQL Server
This session provides an overview of a recent customer engagement to investigate storage performance problems and evaluate potential solutions. The session include details on measuring performance of the existing storage solution, profiling SQL Server disk IO activity and tools to simulate load and evaluate performance.
The session will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of traditional high performance SAN based solutions and compare these with SSD and ioMemory solutions.
The session includes a case information from a customer deployment where performance of existing shared SAN storage was evaluated and a high performance storage solution implemented.

Coeo also offer Remote DBA services for SQL Server platform. Prior to Coeo - Justin spent 3 years working for Microsoft as a Premier Field Engineer during which he delivered SQL Server support consulting to some of Microsoft’s largest finance and government customers. Justin co-authored Wrox IT Pro: SQL Server Performance Tuning, two Syngress exam guides on SQL Server 2008 and contributed to SQL Server 2008 Internals and Troubleshooting guide with Christian Bolton, Brent Ozar and James Rowland-Jones.
