What Administrators Need to Know about Power BI
This session describes the role and capabilities of the Power BI administrator. It focuses on the tasks, processes and monitoring made available by the Power BI for Office 365 Admin Center.
Topics include how to provision a Power BI tenant and setup a Power BI site, how to install a Data Management Gateway to enable secure access to on-premises data, and then how to publish data from on-premises data sources as OData Feeds and to enable workbook data model refreshes. It will also cover how to manage permissions with roles, and how to monitor resource usage and system health.
This session is mostly relevant for Power BI administrators to understand the Power BI feature set and how to enable and support Power BI solutions. It is also relevant for Power BI business analysts to understand what can be achieved with a Power BI site.

Peter Myers has been working with Microsoft database and development products since 1997. Today he specializes in Microsoft Business Intelligence and provides mentoring, technical training and course content authoring for Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Office. Specifically, he works with SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Analysis Services (data modeling and data mining), SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Excel, PowerPivot and PerformancePoint Services.
He has a broad business background supported by a Bachelor degree in applied economics, and he extends this with current MCITP and MCT certifications. He has been a SQL Server MVP since 2007.
Peter is an established presenter and enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for Microsoft products by presenting in classrooms and at user group meetings, technical events and conferences.
