Myth Busters! Dispelling common TSQL & SQL Server Myths

In the age in which we live, digitally information is everywhere, forums, blogs, twitter etc are very prevalent, especially in our industry.
Whilst there is a whole world of fantastic information about there is unfortunately also a lot of misinformation, spawned from Chinese wipers, people regurgitating half read articals / white papers  and a whole host of other reasons.

In this session we will take a look at my list of the most common misconceptions and myths that surround sql server and tsql coding that I come across. We will tackle things such as indexing, join strategies, nested views and even things such as storage internals and query plans.

Using lots of demos and examples we will walk though these myths, explaining where they have originated from and then show why they are a myth and some of the best ways to proceed when you come across these scenarios
