Why you should(nt) run your databases in the cloud

Traditional companies will simply say ‘no’, but there is increased desire for horizontal scalability to leverage cloud elasticity where the traditional solutions use high-end SANs, but this is not a cloudy concept.  Currently we have many possibilities Private Cloud, Public cloud, SAAS, IAAS, and one of those could just be what you need for that next big database. This session is all about the pro's and con's of databases in the cloud. What are the possible issues, what are the opportunities and the pitfalls. Should or shouldn't you care and how and when should you prepare your database for the next frontier.
