Data Visualisation with Power View and the Tabular Model

SQL Server 2012 introduces a paradigm shift: it brings new Data Visualisation and self-service Business Intelligence features designed for non-technical business users, as well as technically astute database developers, DBAs and Business Intelligence specialists.

How can we reach self-service users, who are oriented towards data visualisation? This session introduces you to Data Visualisation in the form of Power View, and new self-service in-memory technology for Tabular Models. This session will focus on the newest and most compelling features for Business Intelligence:

- Power View and its roots in Data Visualisation theory and practice
- Tabular Model: when is it best suited, and how does it stack up against multi-dimensional models?
- Successful Tabular Model implementation to promote self-service

Jen is joint owner of a boutique consultancy firm that offers strategic advice and implementation in data technologies. With nearly 20 years’ experience in delivering artificial intelligence, business intelligence and data visualisation projects, Jen has focused on delivering business value for organisations of various sizes globally.
