James is a Microsoft Certified Master of SQL Server and has been consulting through his own company for seven years. He started life as a developer over seventeen years ago and has progressed from being an MSCD on Visual Basic 6 to an MCM. In the pie that is SQL Server, he has his fingers in every slice; administration, development, automation, and Azure. He loves nothing more than making things that are large, fast, and low maintenance. He is currently automating an agile metadata-driven Anchor modeling DWH, where all the ETL is automatically generated.
He has presented sessions at SQL Bits, SQL Relay, SQL Saturday, and at SQL User Groups across the country.
James Skipwith has submitted a session for SQLBits XIV, although the agenda hasn't been chosen yet. See all submitted sessions
Need to automate a process in your database? Create audit tables, generate stored procedures, or any other type of manually repeatable process? In this session we'll look at how to start and the thought processes and design considerations involved.
Ever had to write a large number of similar stored procedures, audit triggers, archive tables, views, etc.? Let SQL Server do the work for you! With some custom functions, stored procedures and extended properties, this no longer has to be a chore.
