Anti-Forensics-When the bad guys WIN!

In this session we will analyze some of the anti-forensic techniques that may be used in SQL Server in order to avoid a Forensic Technician or an Auditor in retrieving information and/or to obtain an accurate picture of the state of an instance of SQL Server .

We will address topics such as:
- Cheat Transaction Log;
- Direct manipulation of data files;
- Using MSSQL RootKits

    Pedro Correia was born in 1976 on the 265th day of that year.

    He is currently responsible for the Data Information System that supports the Portuguese e.school Program that delivered more than 1.5 million laptops to students and teachers in Portugal.

    He has been working with SQL Server for over 12 years, since the days of SQL Server 7.0, and his specialties are security and performance tuning. He is also a SQL Server trainer and teaching is one of his passions.

    2012 was a year focused on the certification of competences and skills gained over the years, namely becoming one of the few Microsoft Certified Master - SQL Server 2008 (l<100 worldwide) and also achieving the well-known Certified Ethical Hacker Certification.
